In a remote Yoruba village cut off from modern life, eleven-year-old Adetola contracts a flesh-eating ulcer that traditional medicine cannot cure. As his family exhausts every option, a missionary connects his story to a foreign donor whose funded treatment in the city saves his life and pays for his schooling. What begins as a stranger's charity becomes a bond that shapes his entire future, through heartbreak, hunger, and the long climb toward becoming a doctor himself.
